about

Artist's Statement:
This is one of the older songs on the album. I had written a full length instrumental concept album that portrayed my vision of the apocalypse; that album still sits unreleased. This track appeared last on that album was written to be a continuation of an earlier track "The Hollowed-Out Book Fund (The Search For Reason)." It has gone by many names and beat changes throughout its existence on my hard drive. It was originally supposed to be the words before death of a character in that album. I made this final version exactly one year after writing the original and it has officially lost all connections to my hollowed-out book fund.

lyrics

Commando:
I never felt the need to be more than I could show,
I never felt the need to say more than I know,
I never felt the connection between higher power and myself commanding this suburban commando lost as a kid now still lost as a man though,
As I juggle the balls of manhood and life I choose to stand low,
Under the radar pushing the fader (faydar) with my right hand on the trigger of a computer guidance controller,
This addictive personality may be my one soul desouler,
Left hand put down the roller,
Blame the cyberpunk love but I switched to digitally triggered nicotine,
Yeah I have a dream but it's contained inside a basic soundcloud account so I count,
Plays and d L's, we need to be heard so we yell,
Kick and scream for attention but that's not our scene,
My thoughts are scattered but these words are what I really mean,
My senses used to be dull but I forced them to become keen,
I promise to you this is true and it ain't no mutha fuckin scheme.
